LUBY-BETMONT, France — Startup AST SpaceMobile Inc, which is building a constellation of low-orbit satellites to provide 4G/5G links directly to unmodified smartphones, said it still plans to start launching its fleet in late 2022 despite a delay in its proof-of-concept mission.
Formerly scheduled for late this year aboard a GK Launch Services commercial Soyuz vehicle operating out of Russia’s Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, AST SpaceMobile in July switched the launch of its BlueWalker-3 satellite to a SpaceX Falcon 9 ride-share . . .
