LA PLATA, Maryland — AST SpaceMobile, a startup building a constellation of large low-orbit satellites to provide worldwide 4G/5G connectivity to unmodified smartphones, has delayed by about six months the launch of its first production-model BlueBird satellites and said the satellites’ cost has risen 14%.
