LA PLATA, Maryland — The growth of Free Advertiser-Supported Television (FAST) in the Asia-Pacific is breathing new life into linear television, whose demise in the fact of online streaming platforms has long been predicted, three satellite operators active in Asia said.
AsiaSat, Intelsat and SES are not predicting a rebound in traditional linear TV. But Asian consumers’ adoption of connected TVs and at the continued popularity of ad-supported content offer a new way for linear programming to reach users.
