PARIS — Satellite fleet operator AsiaSat Chief Executive Roger Tong is just as angry about satellite operators’ cession of C-band for use by 5G networks in 2022 as he was in 2018 when he was named to his post.
Neither the passage of time nor the $80-billion C-band auction in the United States has changed Tong’s view that similar moves by other governments — especially in Southeast Asia and including his company’s home government of Hong Kong — have been misguided.
