BANGKOK— Hong Kong-based satellite fleet operator APT Satellite Holdings Ltd, which does most of its business in mainland China, said demand for its Apstar-6D high-throughput satellite shows the continuing appeal of geostationary orbit in the face of competition from LEO broadband constellations.
The company expects Apstar 6E, an all-electric satellite using China’s DFH-3E platform, will confirm APT’s new approach to fending off competition from Starlink, OneWeb and the future Amazon Kuiper broadband constellations.
