Amazon Kuiper to EU: Dispensing New Space from space safety rules binding on others doesn’t help sustainability

TUPPER LAKE, NY — The European Commission says the EU Space Law it is preparing for legislative approval will apply equally to EU and non-EU-based satellites service providers, with the exception of purely military space assets.

But the Commission proposes a special, lighter-touch regime for startups and New Space actors so as not to undermine the dynamism of what the Commission hopes will be a high-growth sector.
