Alpine Space Ventures closes in on $160M target for its first fund, investing in near-commercial technologies

UPDATE July 11: Alpine Space Ventures said it closed its fund with 170 million euros ($184.5 million), higher than what the fund had originally expected.

LA PLATA, Maryland — Space-focused venture-capital investor Alpine Space Ventures has raised $155 million and expects to reach its first fund’s $160-million target by the end of this month, co-founder Joram Voelklein said.

The fund has received sizable investments from the European Investment Fund (EIF) and the NATO Innovation Fund.
