PARIS — Airbus has long said its Airbus OneWeb Satellites joint venture was intended to use OneWeb Global Ltd. as the inaugural customer for a satellite product line that would appeal to a wide range of government and commercial customers.
The idea was that, once its early supply-chain glitches were settled, and the production rate stabilized at more than one satellite per day without resorting to double or triple shifts, the company could demonstrate a lower cost basis than designers of competing platforms.
