Airbus and milsatcom: France and Spain under way; UK, Germany, Australia, European Commission competitions to come

PARIS — Spain and France are building new-generation military telecommunications satellites. Britain is planning to do the same. Germany is too. Australia is on track to have its own dedicated milsatcom fleet as part of a multibillion-dollar procurement package called JP9102.

And the European Union is set to upgrade its current GovSatCom capacity pool-and-share network with a secure connectivity network that may include a low-orbiting constellation.
