A kinder, gentler Viasat? No, but one that sees its interest in sharing satellite, ground resources with other operators

TUPPER LAKE, NY — Satellite broadband hardware and service provider Viasat Inc. presented a new business organization and with it a new company philosophy in which it will share its own satellite capacity and ground infrastructure with that of other fleet operators for mutual benefit.

Phrases heretofore unspoken by Viasat --  “open standards,” “third-party capacity," “We don’t need to do everything ourselves” -- were sprinkled through the company’s Aug. 7 earnings call and financial report.
