PARIS — Designers of high-altitude platforms to provide broadband and high-resolution imagery are modifying their pitch to catch the wave of interest in direct-to-smartphone connectivity spurred by big-name players.
These companies say that after the flush of excitement over Apple/Globalstar, T-Mobile/SpaceX Starlink, AST SpaceMobile, Lynk Global, maybe Samsung/Iridium and others subsides, stratospheric platforms will emerge as having a superior business model.
