PARIS — The European Parliament committee examining the European Union’s satellite-based secure connectivity proposal wants to oblige individual EU nations to contribute “at least” 1.6 billion euros ($1.6 billion) to it on their own between 2023 and 2027.
The contributions would ensure that the connectivity infrastructure, which the European Commission had estimated would cost around 6 billion, has sufficient resources to complete deployment.
The Parliament is expected to merge its proposal with that of the European Council and the Commission’s own . . .
