PARIS — Mobile satellite services provider Globalstar has registered a 3,000-satellite constellation with international regulators through Germany, a development that is consistent with Globalstar’s announcements that it’s on the verge of leasing satellite capacity to a large customer.
The network registered with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is for 3,080 satellites operating in 100 orbital planes at altitudes of between 485 and 700 kilometers.
