PARIS — Startup small-satellite launch-service provider Astra Space Inc. said its backlog of firmly committed customers increased to $160 million as of Dec. 31 despite the loss of a $30-million contract when a customer was acquired by another company.
Backlog as of February 2021 was $150 million covering some 50 launches.
Chief Business Officer Martin Attiq said Astra’s definition of “backlog” is stricter than some of its competitors’ in that it is “associated with a deposit for a certain launch.
