PARIS — Satellite fleet operator Telesat said it expects its Lightspeed constellation of low-orbiting broadband satellites will not be in full service until 2026, with launches starting in 2025 — a year’s delay from the previous schedule as it navigates supply-chain delays.
The company said that the ostensible prime contractor, Thales Alenia Space — no final contract has yet been signed — has indicated that inflationary pressures coupled with component shortages likely will increase the expected contract price to above the $3 billion it had negotiated with Telesat . . .
