ESA 2022 budget up 10.9%, plus $1.2B to manage Italian Earth imaging network & $225M for Greek quantum key distribution R&D

PARIS — The 22 member states of the European Space Agency (ESA) are increasing their ESA investment by 3.2% in 2022 compared to 2021, which when combined with a 17% increase in funding from the European Commission and from other third-party sources will put the agency’s budget at 7.2 billion euros ($8.14 billion), up 10.9%.
