PARIS —The U.S. Space Development Agency (SDA) set an Oct. 1 deadline for industry bids to build a total of up to 144 low-orbit satellites, each carrying optical inter-satellite and satellite-to-ground terminals and Ka-band payloads.
Sticking to its announced schedule, the SDA on Aug. 30 issued its request for bids for the satellites, which it expects will cost less than $2 billion, or $14 million per satellite: https://bit.ly/3jHDnR0
