DEGAGNAC, France — Mega-constellation operators OneWeb and SpaceX Starlink, broadband satellite operator Viasat, startup last-mile satellite delivery provider Momentus and cloud platform provider Amazon Web Services offered differing views on how to handle space traffic management in low Earth orbit.
“Technology will solve the problem,” was one solution offered. Another, that civic-minded operators will work it out among themselves. Another: Industry needs a specialized body to regulate itself. And finally: Industry cannot, or will not, do it on its own.
