PARIS — Intelsat will inherit more than $600 million in satellite-bandwidth obligations, much of it to competing fleet operators, when it takes over in-flight-connectivity service provider Gogo’s Commercial Aviation business in early 2021.
How much of this commitment is to SES, Eutelsat, Hispasat and other competitors is unclear, as is whether any of these contracts include escape clauses, even with penalties, which Intelsat may prefer to pay in order to maximize the synergies between Gogo’s business and Intelsat’s . . .
