Telesat submits bid for OneWeb assets, finds itself uncomfortably matched against UK government offer

PARIS— Canadian satellite fleet operator Telesat, which has struggled to secure financing of its proposed Telesat LEO broadband satellite constellation, has submitted a bid to purchase the assets of competing broadband constellation OneWeb Global Ltd.

Telesat, which had tried to win over British government support for LEO, will compete with a British government-led offer for OneWeb, industry officials said.
