PARIS — Satellite fleet operator Thaicom reported a sharp drop in first-quarter revenue from both its conventional satellites and its broadband satellite, but booked an increased profit with a foreign-exchange gain and the absence of impairment losses.
For the three months ending March 31, Thaicom reported revenue of 965 million Thai baht ($29.5 million), down 26% from a year earlier. An anomaly on the Thaicom 5 satellite in December forced the transfer of customers to other Thaicom satellites, but some could not be accommodated and ultimately went to competing . . .
