PARIS — Space insurance officials said SpaceX’s Elon Musk is wrong in saying his company’s Falcon 9 rocket gets lower insurance rates than its competition.
These officials said that, as has been the case for several years, the Arianespace Ariane 5, the United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas 5 and the Falcon 9 all have benefited from historically low insurance premiums. But the Ariane 5 and Atlas 5 still have a slight edge in pricing.
