BANGKOK — Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai’s announcement that he would seek a public, FCC-managed auction of 280 MHz of C-band spectrum now licensed to satellite operators was met with the threat of legal action by those satellite operators that have come together in the C-Band Alliance (CBA).
But in an illustration of its determination to set itself apart from the alliance, onetime CBA member Eutelsat applauded the FCC’s decision.
