WASHINGTON — Luxembourg Deputy Prime Minister Etienne Schneider has lost none of his appetite for the kind of New Space startup investment usually associated with angel and venture capital, not with government ministries.
In an interview here during the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), Schneider -- who has a degree in commercial and financial services -- discusses Luxembourg’s investment in satellite fleet operator SES, its plans for a 100-million-euro venture fund dedicated to space, and is recent agreements with the European Space Agency and NASA.
