BOSTON — Smallsat launch-service startup Vector would have figured on any shortlist of “most likely to succeed” among the dozens of new small-launcher companies.
Based in the United States, with planned launch operations from Alaska and Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, Vector had access to the world’s biggest space agency, the U.S. Air Force.
What they lacked in payload performance, the Vector-R and Vector-H rockets made up for in rapid response and mobility.
