PARIS— Delivering on its threat — or promise, depending on the viewer -- the British government on Aug. 29 agreed to spend $119 million over 18 months to examine a “UK alternative” to Europe’s Galileo positioning, navigation and timing system.
The 92 million British pounds ($119 million) in funding “will be rolled out over the coming months” from the 3-billion-pound Brexit readiness fund.
