LOGAN, Utah — Satellite market consultancy Euroconsult added its voice to the growth chorus here at the SmallSat conference, forecasting that the number of less-than-500-kg satellites launched in the coming decade would surpass 7,000, compared to 1,187 in the 10 years ending in 2017.
The only common thread in the past and coming decades appears to be the presence of Earth observation constellations operated by Planet and Spire Global.
