PARIS— Azerbaijan’s space agency, Azercosmos, generated $25.6 million in export revenue in 2018, up 12% over 2017 on the continued strength of the optical Earth observation satellite’s sales to Airbus Defence and Space of France.
Azercosmos launched the first of two telecommunications satellites in 2013 as part of sharing agreements with Measat of Malaysia and Intelsat. These deals were supplemented in 2014 when Airbus sold the just-launched Spot 7 optical Earth observation satellite to Azerspace.
Airbus retained marketing rights for Spot 6 outside South Asia . . .
