France, Germany join US-led Operation Olympic Defender to bolster allied space domain awareness/defense

MILAN — France and Germany joined the U.S.-led Operation Olympic Defender (ODD) coalition for space control, with the head of French Space Command saying it was “a return to the spirit of La Fayette.”

OOD was created by the US in 2013, with the UK, Australia and Canada joining between 2018 and 2021, four of the Five Eyes nations. New Zealand is the fifth.
