PARIS — You know the small satellite ecosystem has issues when a startup spacecraft builder with less than 50 employees is looking to verticalize its operation out of concerns for third-party component quality.

Colorado-based Atomos Space encountered supplier quality problems head-on this year after the launch of its first two satellites, designed to demonstrate, from LEO, the company’s spacecraft ability to function as designed.
