Spain’s PLD, 15 months from 1st orbital launch of its Miura 5 rocket, outlines road to 2030s with heavy-lift & crewed capsule

LA PLATA, Maryland — Spanish startup orbital launch service provider PLD Space said its total financing has reached 155 million euros ($170 million) in equity, government grants and commercial bank loans and 47 million euros in signed contracts.

The company said it had identified 596 million euros in commercial interest but had not begun selling launches until it gets closer to the inaugural flight, from Europe’s Guiana Space Center in French Guiana, of the Miura 5 vehicle.

That launch is now planned for late 2025 . . .
