TUPPER LAKE, NY — Space AI platform designer Ubotica Technologies said its CogniSat-6 payload on the Open Cosmos-built HAMMER 6U cubesat was able to identify 142 ships in the Gulf of Oman within minutes of capturing them in a hyperspectral image of a 1,000-square-kilometer area.
Open Cosmos’s HAMMER satellite — Hyperspectral AI for Marine Monitoring and Emergency Response — was funded in part by the UK Satellite Applications Catapult. The mission received some 3 million British pounds ($3.8 million) from British government sources . . .
