TUPPER LAKE, NY — SES is proposing a coalition of satellite fleet operators and aviation connectivity hardware and service providers to build a multi-operator network offering Ka-band in-flight connectivity to the world’s airlines.

Reviving an idea that the company first floated several years ago, SES is portraying the resulting network as offering unrivaled worldwide service that would automatically allocate capacity to an aircraft based on the best available satellite, in geostationary, medium-Earth or perhaps even low Earth orbit.
