TUPPER LAKE, NY — The administrations of France, Luxembourg, Sweden and the Netherlands have reported multiple cases of interference of broadcast signals on satellites at 5, 10, 13 and 21.5 degrees east that fleet operators Eutelsat and SES have geolocated to sites in Russia and Russian-occupied Crimea.
They have asked the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for assistance. Pending talks with Russia, the ITU is readying its network of space monitoring stations to validate that the signals are from installations on Russian territory.
