LA PLATA, Maryland — MDA Space’s contract to build 198 broadband satellites for Telesat’s Lightspeed constellation has been increased by 6.7%, to about 2.24 billion Canadian dollars ($1.63 billion), following a recent adjustment.
The adjustment, valued at 140 million Canadian dollars, was “due to updated requirements for the program, and revised sourcing solutions, which is a normal course at this stage of a program,” MDA said May 9 in response to Space Intel Report inquiries.
