LA PLATA, Maryland — European Space Agency (ESA) governments agreed to extend their financial support for the future Ariane 6 heavy-lift rocket until at least 2029 and to guarantee their purchase of at least four Ariane 6 missions per year, on average, for an undetermined period.
ESA governments — in particular France and Italy — also agreed that Avio SpA of Italy, the Vega rocket prime contractor, will be in charge of commercializing future Vega and Vega-C launches beyond those already contracted through Arianespace.
