KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Two long-awaited Indonesian broadband satellites are expected to be operational by early 2024. Then the hard part begins: How quickly and efficiently can the network of 10s of thousands of fixed terminals be deployed to remote locations, many with unstable electric power?
Indonesia’s Baki organization, operating under the Ministry of Communications, says it is more or less on schedule for the deployment of the ground network, starting late this year when the 150-Gbps Satria-1 satellite is scheduled to start operations.
Not long after, assuming is launch by early 2024 . . .
